The UK market holds a leading position within Europe. In 2023, around 4% of the global
biopharma market volume — equivalent to approximately €25.5 billion — was attributed to
the United Kingdom. The following market segments are particularly relevant for German
stakeholders:
- Technology Providers (e.g. AI platforms, digital solutions): German providers of
AI-based platforms and health analytics systems will find strong potential here. - CROs: Demand for preclinical and clinical research is growing, particularly in
oncology, neuroscience, and rare diseases. - CDMOs and CMOs: With the expansion of manufacturing capacities for cell and
gene therapies, mRNA, and biologics, the need for experienced production partners
is increasing — especially in clusters such as Stevenage, Oxford, and Cambridge. - Therapeutics Developers: German developers of small and large molecules as
well as cell and gene therapies benefit from UK programs such as the Cell and
Gene Therapy Catapult and an innovation-friendly funding environment. - Lab Equipment and Technology Providers: The modernization of UK research

Which companies will I meet?
There is no fixed, pre- defined list that is the same for all participants.
After your final confirmation of participation, we or our local partner will contact you by phone to conduct a preparatory kick-off meeting and discuss the program details as well as the B2B meetings.
This conversation serves as an opportunity to get to know each other and to clarify your goals and expectations for the business trip, so that we can organize the B2B meetings in a more targeted and tailored way.
The more specific information we receive from you, the better we can adapt the program planning to your needs.
Costs:
The project is part of the Market Entry Program for SMEs and is subject to De Minimis regulations.
The participant contribution depends on the size of the company:
• €250 (net) for companies with an annual turnover of less than €2 million and fewer than 10 employees • €850 (net) for companies with an annual turnover of less than €150 million and fewer than 750 employees
• €1,500 (net) for companies with an annual turnover of €150 million or more, or with 750 employees or more
Travel, accommodation, and subsistence costs must be covered by the participants themselves.
A maximum of 12 companies can participate.
Registrations will be considered in the order in which they are received, with priority given to SMEs over large enterprises.

• Country briefing on the economic and political framework in the UK, including market opportunities and risks for German companies
• Site visit, e.g. Francis Crick Institute or London Bioscience Innovation Centre
• Joint dinner
12 May 2026 — Day 2, London
• Presentation event and expert conference with representatives from the private and public sectors
• Networking and individual B2B meetings
13 May 2026 — Day 3, Cambridge
• Train transfer to Cambridge
• Participation in the Bio Integrates conference, including networking and individual B2B meetings
14 May 2026 — Day 4, Cambridge
• Site visits:
– e.g. Cambridge Biomedical Campus (e.g. AstraZeneca Discovery Centre)
– e.g. Stevenage Bioscience Catalyst
• Final discussions and feedback session
The program is subject to change. The core of the program consists of B2B meetings, which are organised individually and based on the information provided by each participant. In order to tailor it as precisely as possible to all participants, certain technical
visits, speakers, and other details will be confirmed only after the formation of the German delegation and their specific interests and needs have been thoroughly assessed.
